Scientifica Lab Inaugurates: The Innovative Scientific Research Hub in L’Aquila
L’Aquila – the birthplace of Scientifica Lab, an innovative business incubator – has established itself with the aim of becoming a leading support centre for Italian start-ups in the early stages of their business development within the field of scientific research.
Created to invest in early-stage technologies that provide concrete solutions to today’s social and environmental challenges, Scientifica Lab offers tools, infrastructure, and a focus on innovative technologies, including new materials and advanced manufacturing. Its objective is to guide start-ups and researchers along the path of developing entrepreneurial skills.
Although it is a newcomer to the Italian scene, Scientifica Lab builds upon the solid foundations of two established entities: Ventiseidieci, an Italian company dedicated to scientific research and innovation, with offices in Rome and L’Aquila, and LSG Ventures Limited, a successful London-based company that has executed numerous venture capital operations over the years.
In recent years, a significant number of young Italian researchers have chosen to pursue their knowledge and skills abroad, as they have struggled to find an environment in Italy that embraces ideas, insights, and innovative thinking. Scientifica Lab aims to reverse this trend by establishing a hub that provides all the necessary tools for concrete project development.
As an incubator, Scientifica Lab will support start-ups at all stages of business development and, as a financier, will provide the initial funding required to enter the market during the pre-seed and seed stages.
Furthermore, Scientifica Lab’s incubation process aims to comprehensively support start-ups. It will offer start-up consulting in various areas, including marketing and communication, which are crucial for achieving business success and entering the market.
Located in the heart of the Abruzzo region, Scientifica Lab aims to create synergies with the local community and establish partnerships with private and public entities, both in Italy and abroad. The goal is to support Italian scientific research and position it as a reference point in European and international markets.
The inauguration of Scientifica Lab will take place on November 10 at the Abruzzo Technopole, the location of the new research hub. The event will be attended by the Mayor of L’Aquila and the Rector of the University of L’Aquila, who are strong supporters of the project.
