1-Year Sabbatical: Scientifica Venture Capital’s Permanent Call
The innovative venture capital firm continues to break traditional paradigms by introducing a program aimed at assisting individuals of all cultural backgrounds and ages in taking a work break or temporary hiatus from their studies. The purpose of this program is to transform their “fantasy” ideas into innovative start-ups. The call aims to identify and support projects that have long remained dormant because they were believed to be impossible to realize or incompatible with professional life.
“You may try to lock them away in a drawer, extinguish them in the darkness of the night, but even if you attempt to dismiss them as unachievable, your ideas will continue to make their voices heard. If you are seeking an opportunity to bring your project to life, don’t waste any more time. Join Scientifica Venture Capital’s ‘1-Year Sabbatical’ program.”
This captivating teaser directly appeals to the aspirations of innovators who have been awaiting the right push to transform their dreams into action. The stakes are high, as Scientifica will provide funding of up to €250,000 to launch five projects.
In addition to the funding, the venture capital firm will offer access to technical mentoring and its proprietary laboratories or the Scientifica Labs network for project execution. These labs are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and specialize in areas such as chemistry, biochemistry, electronics, and 3D printing. This creates an ideal environment for completing the tech transfer journey from idea to market. While the proponent of the research project receives support within the labs to develop the prototype, the Scientifica team will work on defining the future brand’s identity, enhancing its unique selling proposition (USP), and increasing its perceived value. Ultimately, they will determine the most appropriate go-to-market strategy and/or exit plan. Additionally, being part of Scientifica’s portfolio grants access to a network of connections that includes key players in the European innovation ecosystem.
To learn more about the start-ups that Scientifica has already funded and hear from the founders themselves about how Scientifica has helped turn their dreams into reality, you can explore the stories of:
- Antonella Logozzi and Exo Lab Italia
- Matteo Astolfoni Fossi and Vbite.
The program is open to employees in the technology sector or students. The requirement is that if the project is selected, the proponent must be willing to take a 12-month work break or study hiatus dedicated exclusively to realizing their idea.
Interested individuals can apply by completing the application form available at Application Call 1-Year Sabbatical.
