Biomechanical studies on horses have revealed that a state of calmness and empathic cooperation can be produced with the decontraction of the masseter muscles (cheeks) in a process called jaw relaxation. Vbite was born from the desire to find a gentle way of inducing a relaxed and collaborative attitude in a horse, by putting its well-being first. An empirical observation conducted by an international team of vets found that the stimulation of the saliva glands in the horse’s mouth with a vibrating system causes an increase in saliva production, which encourages relaxation of the jaw and mastication. Vbite mechanically recreates this condition by drawing on the horse’s innate instinct and creating a sensation of peace and calm.
