Securing your vision
Keratoconus is a condition that causes the thinning and weakening of the cornea, leading to vision loss. When keratoconus occurs, the dome-shaped, transparent layer covering the eye thins out, creating an outward bulge until it forms a cone shape. It affects more than 2% of the global population, typically emerging during puberty and progressively worsening into adulthood, impacting men and women similarly.
Recornea has developed GROSSO, the first nitinol corneal implant designed to help patients with keratoconus regain their vision.
Unlike the intracorneal rings currently on the market, Recornea’s implant can restore the physiological curvature of the cornea with clear and predictable clinical outcomes, aiming to reintegrate optimal vision for patients.
