The Department of Information Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications (DIET) at La Sapienza University of Rome is at the forefront of multidisciplinary research. It excels in both fundamental and applied research, with a primary focus on information and communication technologies (ICT) and micro/nanotechnologies for electronic and optoelectronic systems. Its research is oriented towards innovative solutions in various application areas.

At DIET, research efforts are embedded in numerous national and international projects. These projects are dedicated to the advancement of wired and wireless transmission systems, network development, radar systems, remote sensing technology, electronic measurement, sensor technologies, multimedia and bioengineering applications.
