Istituto Nazionale di Biostrutture e Biosistemi
The National Institute of Biostructures and Biosystems (INBB) is an interuniversity consortium that facilitates and oversees the research and scientific activities of over 730 members, as well as the management of 4 National Laboratories. Among these, the Nanomaterials for the Environment and Health (NAMES) lab – headquartered at the Department of Science, University of Roma Tre – occupies a unique position at the crossroads of chemistry, physics, materials science, biology and engineering. Its research is characterised by an interdisciplinary approach with applications in the environment, biology, biomedicine, and human health. The local labs engage in theoretical design, realisation, and application of smart nanomaterials, as well as assessment of living conditions through the application of statistical, fuzzy logic and AI techniques.
