The Institute for Polymers, Composites and Biomaterials (IPCB) is the main research institute of the National Research Council (NRC) dedicated to the development of polymeric materials, composites and biomaterials, as well as biomacromolecules, green chemistry and life science chemistry.

Research activities, developed in the area of enabling technologies and with a sustainability-based approach, mainly concern the synthesis and development of innovative materials, the development of customized solutions in nanomedicine and health, and the application of chemistry and materials science for the environment and energy, transportation, packaging and cultural heritage.
